ALVS Supports and Honors Military Families on Veterans Day and Every Day

Apex Learning Virtual School thanks all veterans and active military for their bravery and service. ALVS is proud to support military-connected families and has provided flexible learning options for military students for many years. Every year on November 11, citizens recognize the more than 19 million men and women who have served in the U.S. military. Originally named Armistice Day in 1919 to mark the end of World War I, the commemorative day was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to recognize all U.S. military veterans, especially those who lost their lives while fighting. Veterans Day gives everyone the opportunity to pay our respects and honor those who have served to support their nation.

November is also designated as Military Family Appreciation Month to celebrate the dedication of military families across the globe and acknowledge the challenges they face every day in supporting their service family members. Even though parents and guardians wear the uniform, ALVS knows that students are also asked to step up, pack up, and ship out when duty calls. According to the USO, it’s common for a child in a military family to change schools six to nine times between kindergarten and high school graduation.
